How is the Depot run by teens?
Our Student Governing Board plans and runs all events. They create and reinforce the rules of conduct and participate in leadership and volunteer activities in the community. Any Darien High School-aged student can apply for membership on the Board. The Board meets on Tuesday evenings at 7:30 pm.
Who supervises the kids?
Our experienced Program Director and Assistant Directors are on staff during the Depot’s hours of operations.
Can anyone come?
All Darien public and private high school teens are welcome. Guests may come if accompanied by a Darien teen.
What is the Adult Advisory Board?
Parents and community leaders committed to the town’s youth make up this board and and oversee fundraising activities, capital building projects and the operating management of the Depot.
Is the Depot just for high school kids?
Yes, but the Depot invites other community organizations (SafeRides, Kids in Crisis Youth Corps, Youth Options and Fundbusters, for example) to use our facility. We host middle school events throughout the year and the Depot is available to rent for parties, car washes and other events.
